Plenty of torque both on and off the road

There's always something special under the bonnet of a G-Class. The G-Class Cabriolet G 500 boasts a powerful 5.5-litre V8 engine tailored perfectly to the requirements of a versatile off-roader.

8-cylinder petrol engine

With rated output of 258 kilowatts, the G 500 can master the most difficult of terrain, but is equally made for eating up the miles when a speedy motorway journey is required. 530 newton metres of power can be delivered over a large engine speed range, from 2800 to 4800 rpm. The G 500 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h.

Stepless camshaft adjustment on the inlet and outlets sides, four valves per cylinder and lightweight construction materials such as magnesium taken from the world of motorsport all give best possible power output and reduced consumption. The overhauled inlet and outlet channels on the cylinders provide optimum air supply and in this way boost output while reducing emissions.

The whole G 500 experience is rounded off by the V8 sound.
